These ornaments were used to decorate furniture, household belongings, stoves, chimneys and even the walls of houses. Almost everyone in this Ukrainian village of the Dnipropetrovsk region was able to draw these strange patterns. These are petals and leaves, which in skilful hands turned into unexpected flowers, clusters of guelder rose, grapes, fairy birds and even people. Once upon a time, every house in Petrykivka was decorated with this painting. They even said: \u201cIt&#8217;s beautiful in this village, like in a church.\u201d And this is true, because Petrykivka painting can be used for interior decoration even today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We invite you to touch the traditions of this painting and make your own unique decoration: a postcard, wooden or clay product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the masterclass you will get acquainted with the main patterns of this painting: seed, comb, berries. You will learn how to put them together and get picturesque flowers, clusters of guelder rose, or leaves.
